Horsell Common is criss-crossed with paths which are great fun to explore, and has a range of terrains that can provide something for everyone.

The Bedser Trail Easy Access Path and Heather Farm wetland centre provide purpose-built easy-access paths that are suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. The H G Wells Path, when completed, will provide easy access to the Sandpit where the Martians landed in H G Wells’ classic The War of the Worlds.

Heather Farm is also the start and end point for a 2.8km circular walk on raised paths across the Mimbridge Meadows. This area is particularly suitable for dogs, and includes access to the Bourne for splashing and a dog wash area to clean up afterwards.

We have also suggested some other walks across the Common:

Paths are generally not surfaced and may be very muddy, particularly during the winter. Many are suitable for use by adventurous families with buggies as diversions round muddy areas are relatively easy through the adjoining woods.

The Common spans the Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 maps 145 Guildford and 160 Windsor, and 1:50,000 map 186 Aldershot.
