As of the 1st of April 2022 it will once again be a requirement for all professional dog walkers to be licenced by Horsell Common Preservation society (HCPS). The licence fee is the same (£300/year) as it was before the scheme was suspended due to the Covid outbreak. The licencing period starts on 1st of April and finishes on the 31st March each year.

HCPS wish to work with professionals to ensure a high standard of commercial dog walking, and to improve the public perception of professional dog walkers at Horsell Common. By having a licencing scheme we can show that HCPS and professional dog walkers have agreed to a code of conduct and have an agreement in place. As far as is practical we will enforce our licencing scheme by regular visits to car parks at key times. Having a scheme in place helps give us grounds to refuse unscrupulous contractors access to the common for commercial gain.
